Leveraging innovative manufacturing processes, this solution comprehensively addresses the industry’s longstanding challenges with conventional fluoropolymer-lined pipelines—namely, liner delamination, poor resistance to negative pressure differentials, and thermal deformation at high temperatures. As a result, the product’s overall service life is more than 50% longer than that of conventionally manufactured counterparts, delivering stable, long-term protection in highly corrosive environments such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and new energy applications.

Recently, Hengshui Guanlin Fluoroplastic Pipe Co., Ltd. successfully launched a new-generation rotomolded steel-lined PTFE pipeline. Leveraging an innovative manufacturing process, the product comprehensively addresses the industry’s longstanding challenges with conventional fluoropolymer-lined pipes—namely, liner delamination, poor resistance to negative pressure differentials, and thermal deformation at high temperatures. As a result, the overall service life of the product is more than 50% longer than that of traditionally manufactured pipelines, delivering stable and long-lasting corrosion protection in highly corrosive applications such as chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and new energy.

According to the Technical Director of Guanlin, the new pipeline is manufactured using high-temperature rotational rotomolding technology, in which PTFE powder is melted at elevated temperatures and uniformly and densely adheres to the inner wall of the steel pipe. This process increases the bond strength between the lining and the metal substrate by 30%, enabling the pipeline to withstand long-term temperature fluctuations from –100°C to 250°C, as well as positive pressures up to 2.5 MPa and full vacuum conditions, thereby completely eliminating the risks of bulging, delamination, and leakage. The inner lining is made of food-grade, high-purity polytetrafluoroethylene, which exhibits exceptional resistance to strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizing agents, and a wide range of organic solvents. Its smooth inner surface has no dead corners, does not scale, and does not contaminate the conveyed medium, making it ideally suited for high-cleanliness conveying applications in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food processing, and semiconductors.

Currently, this product has been deployed in large-scale batches at numerous major domestic chemical and lithium-battery companies. In extreme service conditions such as the conveyance of hydrofluoric acid, electrolyte solutions, and concentrated hydrochloric acid, it has maintained continuous, stable operation for more than 18 months without a single failure, reducing maintenance costs by 70% compared with conventional stainless-steel piping and extending service life to over eight years. According to a representative from Guanlin Fluoroplastics, the company will continue to invest heavily in the R&D of advanced anti-corrosion technologies, leveraging high-end, customized products to drive the upgrade of industrial corrosion protection and deliver safer, longer-lasting fluid-handling solutions to its customers.
