Steel-lined PE, PO, and PP storage tanks

Lined PO, PE, and PP storage tanks are all steel-lined plastic composite tanks, featuring a carbon steel (Q235B) shell with an inner lining of various thermoplastic materials, thereby combining the strength of steel with the corrosion‑resistant properties of plastics.

Introduction

  • Product Description
  • Steel-lined PE storage tank (Polyethylene)

    • Material: Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE)

    • Temperature resistance: -40°C to 60–70°C (standard ≤70°C)

    • Corrosion resistance: Resistant to most dilute acids, dilute alkalis, salts, and alcohols; not resistant to strong oxidizing agents (concentrated nitric acid, hydrogen peroxide).

    • Manufacturing process: Rotational molding in one piece, seamless and leak-proof; can be fitted with a turtle‑shell mesh for resistance to negative pressure.

    • Applicable to: Ambient‑temperature, conventional corrosive media (hydrochloric acid, dilute sulfuric acid, wastewater, food‑grade liquids)

    Steel-lined PO storage tank (Polyolefin)

    • Material: Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer (modified PE, commonly referred to as PO in the industry)

    • Temperature resistance: -40°C to 85–90°C (superior to PE)

    • Corrosion resistance: resistant to acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents; superior impermeability and stress‑cracking resistance compared to PE.

    • Process: Hot roll coating / Rotational molding; can be equipped with turtle‑shell mesh and is resistant to negative pressure.

    • Applications: Moderate-temperature service conditions; corrosive liquids containing small amounts of solid particles (e.g., chemical intermediates, pesticides, dyes)

    Steel-lined PP storage tank (Polypropylene)

    • Material: Homopolymer PP, Copolymer PP (PPH)

    • Temperature resistance: -10°C to 100°C (the highest among the three)

    • Corrosion resistance: resistant to inorganic and organic acids, bases, and salts; resistant to certain organic solvents; not resistant to strong oxidizing agents or halogenated hydrocarbons.

    • Manufacturing processes: plate welding, rotomolding, and powder coating; with a relatively thin liner and excellent rigidity.

    • Applications: high-temperature corrosive media, chemical pickling, electroplating, and food-grade sanitary conditions.
